- Wingback beds tend to be wider because of their extended side wings.
- Square-frame Fabric Designer Beds are typically the most compact.
- Adding ottoman gas-lift storage to a slatted frame increases the total bed length by approximately 1–2 inches (3–5 cm).
The standard UK mattress sizes are:
